Need a mid year break?
by Lynn Eaton * National Account Manager * Spencer Travel

With night upon us at 5.00pm, chilly mornings, grey days and the threat of swine flu, perhaps it is time to think of taking a mid year break.  Somewhere balmy is always appealing and this month we feature two destinations that offer very different opportunities to re-charge and relax.

Vietnam

Why not spend 10 days visiting Vietnam?  Most travellers are overwhelmed by the sublime beauty of the country's natural setting: the Red River Delta in the north, the Mekong Delta in the south and almost the entire coastal strip are a patchwork of brilliant green rice paddies tended by women in conical hats.  There are some magnificent beaches along the coast, while inland there are soaring mountains, some of which are cloaked by dense, misty forests.

Vietnam also offers an opportunity to see a country of traditional charm and rare beauty rapidly opening up to the outside world.  Spencer Travel could plan an exciting 10 day visit to Vietnam which would include 2 days visit to Hanoi, Vietnam’s exciting capital, and an overnight stay in Halong Bay, a natural wonder with thousands of islands rising out of the water creating a unique & beautiful seascape, ideal to enjoy a swim in the warm sea.  Then three days relaxing in the beautiful town of Hoi An, with lots of little shops down narrow cobbled alleyways specialising in tailoring, Vietnamese silks, home ware & artwork.   Here you can ride a bicycle, relax at one of the 5 star beach resorts, or try your hand at a Vietnamese cooking school.  From Hoi An travel to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) the heart and soul of Vietnam.  It's a bustling, dynamic, cultural centre and the largest city in the country. The streets, where much of the city's life takes place, are a jumble of street markets, shops, pavement cafes, stands-on-wheels and vendors selling wares spread out on sidewalks. It's impossible not to be infected by its exhilarating vibe.

Hayman Island, Queensland.

If you want to stay closer to home then visit this magnificent resort on the Great Barrier Reef. Hayman is a private island destination, presenting a unique resort experience of adventure, indulgence and natural beauty.

Hayman presents resort living in 228 beautifully appointed rooms, suites, penthouses and a villa, situated in Pool, Palm, Lagoon and Beach Wings, all featuring private terraces or balconies.  Can’t you see yourself lolling on a sun bed enjoying the spectacular views? Hayman offers restaurants and bars plus a lounge, and outdoor island settings for dining. Each week, Executive Chef, Glenn Bacon, or another of the resort's Chefs, hosts The Chef's Table for guests in the Main Kitchen.

In conjunction with the popularity and success of the “Stay Another Day” offer, valid for travel until the 31st of July, Spencer Travel and Holidays Hayman are offering 50% off a second room for children on the “Stay Another Day” rate!

Just imagine!

4 nights at Hayman in a Pool room

Daily buffet breakfast for two at Azure

Return transfers from Hamilton Island Airport

$100 dining gift certificate per room per stay

All from $1020 per person twin share.

For children in a second Pool room, they would only pay 50% of this rate, with the same inclusions as above for up to two children under the age of 12 years.

From $510 per child, twin share.

That is a 4 night Hayman Escape for a family of four for a total of $3060.00.

Hayman is offering sensational value with this special! It is only available for travel strictly until the 31st of July.  This offer including the return transfers from Hamilton Island Airport is not going to be extended.  A very good reason to take that mid year break!
